What happens to the class in which half of the students do not speak Russian? What will be the life of today’s children of migrants, if they remain “foreigners” next to us? President Vladimir Putin spoke about this problem yesterday. What do parents, teachers and human rights activists think about her?

President Vladimir Putin proposed monitoring the number of migrant children in the country’s schools. In his opinion, it is impossible to allow schools to appear in Russia where exclusively visitors go.

“Now there are no finished recipes, but it is quite obvious that the number of migrant children in our schools should be such that it does not formally, but actually adapt them to the Russian language environment, to the cultural [environment] so that they can plunge into the Russian systemvalues, ”said Vladimir Putin at a meeting of the Council on Interethnic Relations on March 30.

The topic of adaptation of migrants is relevant for Russia and many other countries. And if you have not yet encountered her on personal experience, let’s figure it out together, what is the essence of the problem and what solutions can be.

What is the problem?

To figure out this, we talked with experts and parents whose children go to Moscow schools. After all, it is in the millionaire cities, where most of the labor migrants traditionally strive, the question arises of especially acute.

Parents’ opinion

Lyudmila Nazarenko: “Three years ago, the son went to school, and half of the class consisted of migrant children. We have an international family, and we have never been against other peoples and cultures. And then they suddenly ran into a problem. The guys who did not speak Russian did not really study, did not understand what the teacher was saying and what other children communicate about changes about. The atmosphere of alienation, hostility arose in the classroom. As a result, a group of children formed who began to behave quite aggressively with the rest. Arranged fights, raised girls. At the same time, they held on to each other tightly. After several fights from the “All one” series, we took the son from the school and transferred to where there is no such problem ”.

Difficulties really arise where new inhabitants of Russia do not master its state language and live with enclaves, that is, as a “state in the state”. Language is a means of communication. The inability to understand each other and rejection of another culture gives rise to hostility. And this problem must be solved.

“I will say from experience: if at least half of the children do not speak Russian in the classroom, then instead of their adaptation, we get a new enclave, a closed community,” says the teacher and in the past-deputy director of one of the Moscow schools Natalya Sokolova. -Therefore, in a good way, it is necessary to evenly distribute children of migrants in all classes. That is, to create a multi -cultural environment and maintain a resource for inclusion in our culture, language culture “.

“Children of migrants are a very broad concept,” says Anna Chumachenko, a teacher of Russian language and literature. – There are families in which parents have a fairly high level of education and culture. Such children strive to adapt and can very quickly even become learning leaders. And there are those whose parents are busy at low -paid work and do not see the value in education. Of course, you need to take in ordinary classes based on an exam for knowledge of the Russian language. But where to put those who do not pass this exam?”

Education – right or obligation?

“The problem is not that the children https://kletterwald-veilbronn.de/preise/ of visitors do not want to study, but that they are not taken to schools,” says teacher and human rights activist Svetlana Alekseevna Gannushkina. And this despite the fact that the right to education is provided with a constitution. In her opinion, the “filter” is the form of recording in school – only electronic, through a personal account. As a result, some children risk being left without school and without general education in principle, and without this they have more chances to join the criminal environment.

“On the other hand, if the family of migrants is not interested in the adaptation and integration of children into the Russian environment and culture and does not seek to send them to school, learn the language – we must oblige them to do this. The Constitution speaks not only about the right to education, but also that it is necessarily, ”recalls Svetlana Gannushkina.

What to do?

Take into account experience

“This problem is successfully solved in many civilized countries,” the human rights activist says. – The programs for adaptation and integration of children have been working for a long time in Europe and the USA. America is, in principle, migrant country. Of course, there are excesses, as with any socially unsettled environment.

In the States where there is extensive experience working with similar situations, they organize a special course on the study of the state language. And the child quickly becomes bilingual, even if at home they speak only on his native. Often, children of migrants learn even more diligently than local ones, because they are motivated to get an education and arrange their lives. Our subject “Russian as a foreign” should be mandatory for those who have not yet learned the language ”.

“Both in the regions and in Moscow there is an experience on which it is worth relying. You can recall the educational programs of the USSR, ”says Natalya Sokolova.

Prepare teachers

“The question arises – where to get personnel, because here we need another training of teachers. Training in Russian those who do not speak it is a separate program. We need special people, techniques and programs for cultural adaptation.

Otherwise, in a class of 30 people, gifted children who should participate in the Olympiads, and children of migrants who speak Russian will participate in Russian. And one on all the teacher should work with them with all.

But, in fact, he works for a certain average denominator – that is, for nothing. Because it is impossible to run around the Olympiads at the same time, to create a cultural environment for those who are still outside it, and even work with our socially dysfunctional children who are also important to do. So yes, the percentage of migrants is important to observe. But the main question is how all this will be realized, ”explains Natalya Sokolova.

Adapt adults

According to teacher Anna Chumachenko, we need centers for adapting not only children, but also parents. It is necessary to prepare teachers who can work in these centers. And this requires funds and time.

Why is the problem you need to solve?

We want our children (and ourselves) to live in a friendly and safe society. To do this, today we need to help migrant children master the Russian language, study Russian culture and learn to coexist with others in our large and, recall, a multinational country.

Moreover, this corresponds to the state interests of the power. “Teaching the Russian language and culture is the most peaceful and very effective way to spread our influence in the world,” says human rights activist Svetlana Gannushkina. – That is, the education and integration of children of migrants is for the benefit of the interests of Russia “.
